I love you Nadeo. I'm happy to play your games, Shootmania and ManiaPlanet turned out very good and I am sure that in time you can make it even better, Open Beta is a good idea. I think you make a very serious work to achieve such impressive results and recent months have been particularly tense for you. Anyway, I am sure that you are going in the right direction and I'm glad that you actively maintain and develop their projects, please don't stop, you are very good at it. Good luck in 2013 and sorry for my bad english, I hope you understand what I mean.

I know it is not a high priority, and some may not miss them at all.

I initially did not use or even care about personalized skinz and car models in TM, however as I have grown friends and learned to enjoy the unique style each had I have become anxious to return to the point where we could race opponents who were not just another grey car with the same horn and motors sounds over and over.

It kept things interesting and I imagine all the community webpages and groups devoted to making and sharing these skins are really suffering from the loss of these features that have been gone since well before christmas. Alot of the creators had special christmas themed skins made that were not ever seen.

So perhaps we can get some of our personal style and what made each player unique back in TM soon.

(I am anxious to race against my buddies who drive cows on tricycles, the lambo's, my supra etc.)

I'm glad you postponed it. I got back into the beta a couple of weeks ago and I didn't think the game was ready for release. This didn't have anything to do with gameplay, just the UI.

Oh by the way, new UI is f-ing beautiful.

I'm also waiting for a resurgence of quite a lot of custom gamemodes that either are only available on a couple of servers or aren't available at all anymore. ( Speedball, Sabotage, Team Survival, CTF, Target, Jailbreak, The Beast, Infiltration, Oscillation, Kill Confirmed)

I think there are quite a lot of the newer players who haven't played those and it's a real shame. Nothing puts the mania in Shootmania like a game of Oscillation :3

All the above is fully functional now and thanks very much to the coders!

Really nice to have everything back to normal.

i agree. while it is a pain having to wait and wait, the end result will be worth while for all the true supporters and mania fanatics out there. i do know one thing in that if Valley and Stadium gets released to keep people happy it will be a major disaster, just look at all the "BIG" games released and there is an outcry when they are full of bugs and problems.

A certain date for the Open beta is a welcome thing for me and I think necessary. As Hylis said synchronizing players for this is necessary. It gets maximum numbers of players and input in tracking down bugs and user interface optimization and gameplay suggestions. But I think that as eyebo says it may be a little silly not to think of it as a release. A teaser release if you will.
But this is going to be the norm in software for the foreseeable future. Microsoft does it. They are huge! The Cave did it. They are really small.
This is just the way things are and as I see it the way things should be.
Thanks to everyone at Nadeo for all their hard work. Despite missed release dates in the past I'm patient and I'll wait until the team thinks things are ready to go.

an open beta for shootmania could work really well indeed.
You might want to fix the launcher info a bit though..

(add a description of the gametype b4 you start the game rather than having to login and read about it at spawn)

Especially for ppl who want to build rather than shoot it's hard to figure out.
which might result in an uninstall prior to actually getting a feel with the game. Happened to me after i bought the game... And i paid $$ for it b4 leaving.

Im still hopeing Stadium will be free to play, with the same model like League of Legends. It is the only way to a massive expansion and success in esports and also to biggest community.

I have no problem for pay for the game but I do not want to play "alone" :)
