To bad you can only play with +- 200 players in a server and not like in tmnf, tmuf 255 players.

Huh? I thought Hylis was quoted as saying it was up to 1500 players on the track at once?

I asume, that, if we look at the amount of players in TM, there's no chance for TM2 to be the same, so why do we have to expect coming 1500 people on 1 server. Ridiculous.

how are you going to read the chat with 1500 players talking and the relevant server messages?
How are you going to see where to drive with 1500 players on the track?

I think so, but maybe Nadeo will find a way to make it possible that the dedicated can handle this amount. Then there would at least be a possibility to make things work out in the future.isamu wrote:Is it unreasonable to ask for 1500 players at once?
I guess people which are going to set up such a server will be able to manage such stuff over plugins which are available or written for this purpose. Just think about different chat streams, if they'll be provided by the dedicated, then this should be easy programmable. ... a feature that would be awesome even for todays player counts would be to manually select the visible opponents (could be realized by righ clicking on the player names for example)...the picture is supposed to show 8 players to be visible but the forum crops the pic...so 5 on the right side are missing...^^......

...don't know how much overhead such a feature would cause...but if it was possible with reasonable effort and resources...it would be awesome to be able to manually select the opponents you want to see (not only for the "crazy" idea of a 1500 player server^ ^)

True, you already have to tweak around with CheckpointSystem and P2P if you go on really crowded servers not to have too much lag caused through heave bandwidth...and even the fasteds machines/ connection get problems with over 200 players, even IF you try to find optimal settings...so most people would have to turn off the opponents...and if i don't see 200players or if i don't see 1500 players does not make that big a difference...Knutselmaaster wrote:...How are you going to see where to drive with 1500 players on the track?
