ah you're with XP, then no compatibility mode required ;)
The debug version please put there and also launch where ManiaPlanet.exe is located, probably C:\Program Files\ManiaPlanet or there where you have installed ManiaPlanet (simply check the shortcut on your desktop).

Hey TMarc,

here we go again  Started the game with the ManiaPlanet_logs.exe , crashed again twice.
Here is the logfile + 1 Freeze-File, each from one crash:

danke!

Very strange. Those two errors appear a lot in the log:
- [Dx9] Trying to enable unavailable DialogBoxMode
- CSystemFileMemMapped::MapViewOfFile failed : error code = 8, filename=C:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\All Users\Anwendungsdaten\ManiaPlanet\PacksCache\TMCanyon.pak

One thing you should also try: set the AGP memory value to maximum in the advanced video settings, compatibilty.
If this does not help, try to set it to 0.
Because in the logfile it says actually:
[Sys] Gpu Memory Video MBytes = 1 024
[Sys] Gpu Memory Agp MBytes = 118

Try to move the game data to a different folder with shorter path (use the help button in the launcher and move the folder there), e.g. c:\Games\ManiaPlanet.

OK, I was bored a bit today ;) , so I tested my card and driver etc. (ATI Radeon HD 5770) with 3DMark, the Windows graphic test and Video Memory Stress Test - no faults detected. I also have the newest driver available.

This is what Windows told me about the Stop-Fehlercode 0x000000EA (deutsch): http://support.microsoft.com/kb/293078/de
I found the same error in some posts here in the forum from some other guys, who had also problems with the editor in TM2, TMUF etc., but some of them used the old Unlimiter (I didn't) and had different setups. Whatever... :(

Changing the AGP value and putting all data closer to the Maniaplanet.exe as you mentioned didn't changed a thing.
Deleting the Default.SystemConfig.gbx + cleaning the game cache every time before mapping helped a bit, so I will do it so. At least I'm more a driver than a mapper, so my focus was always more on this matter ;) The gameplay still works fine, online + offline. I only have to watch out when mapping 8-)

Maybe my feedback for you guys was something to work with, so everything wasn't for nothing :)

Hi,

It looks to be driver related (I know you've the latest).

If you can reproduce the crash in a deterministic way (a list of clear actions to execute in right order to make the crash), which may not be easy (you may be editing since quite a while before the crash).
Then, we could send an email to Amd support to see if they can fix their driver.

Thanks

Seriously - this is a job for getting some 100 bucks for it. At least I don't have the time nor the ambition to do the programmers work. If they produce a bad product, they have to fix it or at least tell me what's wrong, cause I'm the customer, not the Nadeo Delta-tester.

zett, you also have to understand that Nadeo cannot have every PC and every combination of software that exists on the market to debug the issues possibly only one user has.
How are they supposed to reproduce your issue if you're not even willing to tell them more?

Please download the latest debug version http://files.maniaplanet.com/debug_vers ... t_logs.zip and provide logfiles again.

If you don't have the time to do that, you'll have to wait and hope for a future update where the issue might be solved. ;)

The problem might come from AMD drivers. A particular code making the driver crash. Whatever the fault is in the code if there is any the drivers shouldn't crash.
Welcome to the world of ati were drivers are even less stable then ManiaPlanet :) , when you see the updates of drivers you can notice very often they are done for a specific game. Usually it is just performance issues that they fix but sometimes it can be driver crashes as well. Ati usually doesen't give any information about the changes they do to their drivers.

Yep, I know... I don't blame Nadeo for anything, it's just a driver issue. It's time for me to throw Windows 8 right in anyway + a new (and non-ATI) card pretty soon. A TM2 XBOX/PS3- version would be fun also, even if it would never happen ;)
