I know you like the game and are trying to help maybe more than anybody, but when you say other players that the issue is not being negative, maybe you are also quite wrong (or not) The 12K are right and your suspicions are useless. You seem to agree that the fact that the game is unknown is one of the main issue, but you don't seem to think that making a good reputation for it is important. And I think we disagree on that. But that's not a big deal. I will continue to work, enjoy Shootmania and be convinced that the awesome community (including you) is much more important than negativity toward us.

U twist my topic so much & then some more, just to win an argument. U should start a carreer in politics.

I hate NEGATIVITY, ok? I only said that the source of negativity is the small playerbase. I never said negativity is good & I dont promote it.
The topic is about the numbers and the numbers are bad. Thats the core of the topic.

About making Elite free, I have not trouble to think about it, or at least to test up to the next GA. But I think I was quite alone answering the big flames of people saying how bad we were to announce Elite for free. I was quite alone to explain how strange it was to say "hurray" to a -75% promo and to meanwhile say "I want to put the Nadeo studio to fire because they announce that Elite will be free in 6 months"

At least, we can test a limit of 1000 on Elite (making it virtually free forever until it becomes popular enough) I can change it in a minute. But since I am quite fed up of these negative discussions, I would rather make a deal with some of you to stop being uselessly (in my opinion) negative. It's totally possible to say: "I believe that making Elite for free on a long period of time can improve the number of players. And I think we really need to start saying around that they simply have to download the Shootmania demo on Steam to join us, or we will make a link with the super setup: it goes directly into the Elite station without going through Maniaplanet."

There is no need for the endless number of accusation on how bad we are at making the game you like.

You keep attacking me personally :D
Read the 1st post. 100% pure facts. Nothing negative. Only objective, nothing subjective.
We all already asked for free Elite. Dont twist words. We asked this at least 100x on these forums...

Djeezes, stop it.

For the better of everyone!
This discussion is so general and will end nowhere. It's not very constructive and more based on accusations than actual game content. Additionally Hylis has spent more than one hour of his work time already just to read and post here :0010

Nadeo does a really good job at developing, although there are some decisions I cannot really understand. But that's okay. You cannot agree with someone to 100%. It's just not possible. Not even with your best friend in real life. ;)

So it would be quite cool to end the discussion.
Please Hylis, do not answer here anymore. It costs too much time and (emotional) energy. Thanks :thx:

He still believes the reason for the low playerbase is "negativity" (including me).
The reason for a low playerbase is the quality of the game.

...
and now
...

Shootmania is like a custard doughnut, its better than a jam doughnut, but jam doughnuts came first and are popular in America, so lots of people eat jam doughnuts..... If people would only try the custard doughnuts they would love it.

I also think French design is alright ....if we forget about these....

... and The Citroen 2CV

Okay, I admit it, I secretly kinda like both of them for being custard doughnuts in their own way.

I hope you like my insightful contribution to the topic

Novationx, you first post with "not a single excuse will make these stats acceptable. Please improve your game ASAP" is negative

And if "communication + reputation + free access" is less important than quality for Elite (except for french players) then so be it. We will wait for quality to be there, to be sure it's really the right way to push.

And thanks MrA and Haenry. I agree, I should stop to lose my time.

Hey novationx, I really appreciate what you try to do for our community, but at this very moment I think it is time to accept that shootmania has a small, but nice community. The only thing we can do for it is spreading the game through our own "propaganda" (get it on tournaments, ESWC, fragmovies on youtube, other talk). It definetly doesn't look good to outsiders if the most controversial point about the game is... its popularity. I hope (and I guess) the Nadeo team will atleast give its community the momentum and support to make these things happen.

Side note; I read a comment on some gaming forum (it was an off topic forum on starcraft I think) saying something like
"I was tempted to try out this game, but I randomly read through their forums and found negative feedback on their newly implemented shootmania improvements. I might check back if this game is still alive later on [he talked about in one year; comment from early 2013]."
I don't give a shoutout or so, but I want to remind that it is still important to be active on popular sites like for example youtube. Having a sweet video every 1-2 months about new gamemodes or updates would definetly bring some more players (demo has already been a big step).
