Re: Harder Nadeo Medal
The main thing I noticed on StarTrack was schitzophrenic difficulty that jumped around wildly from track to track. Sometimes it was really easy to get the medal that unlocked the next track, and then that next track would have a bronze medal that was next to impossible to beat (for me anyway).
The campaign had great track designs but it was frustrating as h**l.
If the authors *were* told to drive slow times it seems like half of them didn't listen.
I like the difficulty of the nadeo campaign better -- it's not easy for me by any means but at least it's consistent. But I like the designs of StarTrack better... I just don't usually play it in campaign mode (I use the startracks a lot in hotseat and on LAN along with the nations tracks which are also better than the nadeo united tracks).

The eyes of the plush lobster stared deep into my soul. I picked it up, and then I was a panther.

Re: Harder Nadeo Medal
It could be interesting, but maybe Nadeo's employees do not have enough time to get this level on all tracks. Maybe they could let (a) pro beta-tester(s) make the "Nadeo medals" ghosts... But there are maybe arguments against it.sebik wrote:I agree with the rest. It must be harder to get
Nadeo medal -> pro player time
gold medal -> current Nadeo medal
silver medal -> current gold medal
bronze medal -> current silver medal

Re: Harder Nadeo Medal
Or maybe they think it's better as it is ^^ There are already so few people who get all the Nadeo medals (and if you did so, you do know how many) so it seems they're not really easy.Romain42 wrote:It could be interesting, but maybe Nadeo's employees do not have enough time to get this level on all tracks.
Moreover, it will be a brand new gameplay and I don't think you'll need a single try to beat the Nadeo medal or even the gold one (except on first easy tracks maybe) so if times are done by "pro" players, you'll just cry (and I'm sure some of you know why

Re: Harder Nadeo Medal
So what about easy Nadeo medals on the very first tracks? The futher you go (next level unlocks) the harder author times will be. It could be a nice compromise. The pro players would pass first tracks almost immediatelly and could expect a little challenge at the final stages, when the new players could be introduced to the game with some 'normal' (for them) difficulty tracks and after passing few campaigns the next tracks could become mission impossible until they learn how to drive properly

Re: Harder Nadeo Medal
Pro levels & nadeo maps:
Bronze: using the gas succeeded
Silver: some steering too now
Gold: not many fails anymore, still something to improve
Nadeo: a crash free, good run
National top 10: pro
World top 10: woot nolife!!!
So imo nadeo medals are good already, so just roll like always, Alinoa (if you build & drive the maps for tm2 ^^ (i hope so) )

Re: Harder Nadeo Medal
I think the medals are fine as they are, and NADEO medals should only be considered as a challenge for casual drivers. After all, I don't think pros would waste their time driving NADEO tracks if they wanted to improve, because NADEO tracks are more about learning the basics of driving.

Nadeo medals are Hylis's PB, maybe he can't do better.
