Re: NEW GAME TRACKMANIA TURBO ANNOUNCED AT E3
Not to nitpick or anything, but come on, whats that supposed to be ? Another warmed up title (just like TM2) called Trackmania, funny enough looks pretty much the same like TM2 without the slightly better visuals. So once upon a time there was TM, in my case my beloved TMU, then they warmed up that with slightly better (emphasis on slightly!) graphics. Then they castrated the hell out of fun & physics and made TM for anyone being smart enough to play NFS and called it TM2. Now there is TM-Turbo, which is a warmed up TM2 with more fancy (but not too much) and probably even less fancy physics, so even a 3year old can drive the tracks.
Well, I am so glad we had that. Everything after TMU is a disgrace to what TM stands for. Damn, why do publishers have to ruin games, just so the profit can be increased....
TM, a once so special game, now something everyone can play without any skill needed.

I like your maps, they are really in the Maniaplanet style of customization. As for the skill, it's a long debate, but being the best is always as difficult as before. I expect you to love Lagoon for the legacy of Bay & Snow, if by skilled you mean nervous. But I guess you already looked at the video on twitch of the people playing it. Or this one, which is a little short to make your mind

You probably will be surprised, but i am a COAST only lover.
I know, most people dont like that environment and say that you cant do something nice with it. And for that i have to disagree. I sure did quite some stuff with Coast, and sure far from Standard. For me TM2 was a no-go since I saw that you castrated the physics out of it to make it more userfriendly. I bought the first TM2 Canyon back then, in the hopes it would half of what I like. And it wasnt. Sure, you cant make everyone happy, I realize that. As a developer, and especially to make profit with a product, a company probaby has to try to make things more straight more forward to get more possible customers, people that are not so much into the crazy stuff.
But i think that was a step in the wrong direction. I still play TMU since this day, TM2 is just not what I like or enjoy anymore. I would have love that to be my next TM game, but I just couldnt find what I was looking in TM. What made TM special for me.
I am probably just one of those few that prefer the old one, probably most like TM2.

Take a look at the screenshots HERE. These are my real precious tracks. One of those isnt validated yet because its so hard in one piece to drive.Hylis wrote:I like your maps, they are really in the Maniaplanet style of customization.

I tend to make my maps so complicated that even I need to be in the right mood to be able to validate them.

And thats what I miss since TM2. Its just not what I can use anymore. I will take a look at TM-Turbo, but I doubt it will convert me.
You guys at NADEO made the most special game in my life for me, TM. And for that I thank you immensely. I just dont like the way things went after that. Thats all.

Re: NEW GAME TRACKMANIA TURBO ANNOUNCED AT E3
Wolfseye, I will not be surprised, since I clicked on the picture of your maps before and they are lovely. They are using creativity and mods for user feeling madness ^_^ But having nervous gameplay is among what people call "skill" among many things that could be skilled. As for your taste in a more specific way, I am always happy to see Coast players since it was a very ambitious decision to put it like that in Sunrise, with various people questioning my choice. Maybe you will like Moon ^_^ (I don't know how it will be) But it takes time to rebuild a big 2 when you worked with passion for 6 years on the big 1
It's known that Lagoon style of racing is more my cup of tea, and yet, I had to wait for it for TM² for the later to be closer to my taste.

Re: NEW GAME TRACKMANIA TURBO ANNOUNCED AT E3
wow, that dynamic music, I hope it's something we can import and customize ourself. Like I could make a track completely taylored to this new system, make pieces that respond on finish, slow moments etc
And that track is really a "time addict" track in the core

@Hylis: Thanks man, I really appreciate your comments.
I will check out the new one, since I can only make myself a picture when I tried it. And I can still hope of course.
