Rots wrote: 24 May 2017, 17:24 I know I'm in that list who clicked lagoon beta access, but I don't want to buy TMT PC just to have lagoon for an update period. Anyway.

This is what I call the NADEO vals:

1. We first knew that any TMT owner would have Maniaplanet Lagoon for free, as a way to promote Maniaplanet, the main PC platform.
2. Then it changed to only TMT PC owners would get Lagoon for free.
3. Then we knew after the lagoon beta period ended, without any advise or mail or statement, that TMT PC owners would only get Lagoon if they registered before the release.
4. Now we know that even if you registered for the beta and had TMT on PC you only get Lagoon for free during an update period. That means until Maniaplanet 5.

What will be the next move? 5$/month to play maniaplanet?
Maniaplanet 5 is released tomorrow ? :roflol:

I also believed that Lagoon would be free for all title owners, but .... I misunderstood.

- First you had to register to the Trackmania² Lagoon Beta (open & free for TMT owner) and to connect to your Maniaplanet account through Steam or Uplay which has a full copy of TMT to check that you have it.
- Once done, you'll get the full version of Trackmania² Lagoon for free until the Maniaplanet 5 release.

Yet we have identified few bugs that prevented players to get Lagoon with this method, most notably that the Shootmania Storm Elite Demo install on Uplay was broken for several days before the release of TM² Lagoon.

As a result, we're allowing the players who was elligible to the beta and tried to claim the access (by cliking on the button on the Player Page about the Lagoon beta) before May 18th at 6PM CEST to get Trackmania² Lagoon until Monday (May 29th) (we know on our side who tried to do it). You don't need to go back to the Player Page to do it, just to connect to the Maniaplanet account through the Uplay or Steam account which own your copy of TMT before the end of the weekend.

You should see the Lagoon station at the next launch of Maniaplanet.
Not surprisingly, it doesn't work for me.

I logged in maniaplanet from shootermania demo from uplay, logged out, logged in maniaplanet and it keeps saying that i need to buy lagoon..

1. Wrong since I always said it was to be confirmed since we were still having internal questions
2. We did it with a delay to register. The communication that we would do it was not bigger than the one we did to explain when and how to do it, it was finally mainly a 'community' gift.
3. It's often the case for things like early access etc. It's because I was still trying to find a solution for 1 until late that the announcement was short noticed.
4. I don't know if we will succeed in making mp4 live after Mp5 but if Mp5 exists, it's because we would have work on new stuff that are obviously not included in the current software (you probably know a lot of software that each itération cost, like 3dsmax for example)

Now, of course you would have this to be better, and honnestly me too. Now, we have still made something for players and if you look at sales, you also see that some players can have games for half the price than others. It's not simple. And this is pretty much what I was trying to explain earlier.
there are some limits to what we can do and there are also issues on the various options. I was personally supporting was to send an email to all TMT buyers from any platform to give them a special access to Lagoon. For me, it was a way to make them discover the great "community" place. In ended with somewhat a minimal solution to mostly support this community that was present during the beta phases. Of course, there are border cases, like you, and drawing the line is complicated: the beta was a tool to do it.
Now, saying that you have to buy it twice, I would like to point out that the majority of the work is on many other things, like block updates for Valley but also, and that's by far the most costly engagement we have, is to develop special software: title pack maker, channels, mesh modeler, optimizations, modes, levels etc. It is also the reason why we limit the gift to MP4. And if we said that we wished to provide Lagoon but can't confirm, it was more to compensate the waiting the community had to have with Lagoon in Maniaplanet at the moment we revealed (and we can't do it earlier) that we were in fact working on a console game, and the win-win situation was to bring into Maniaplanet more players that were unlikely to try it out.
All in all, I know it's blurry since we sell environments, but a little like we did with United, the concept is to support all the work we do to enable user created content. Some people would say that 70€ is too much for all the environments, while it's 9 years of work from the studio. I saw that the game was 15% off on gamesplanet, and that's something that happened at even higher percentage on TMT over the last year. In the end, there is one thing we should be a little serious about, even if it's always great to have your contributions, it's when we charge for the work of the big and engaged Nadeo team
.

Keep also in mind that we made a big free update for Valley and still added stuff for other envs, including Lagoon.

What about those of us who didn't bother to login and click the button before that time because the Shootmania demo wouldn't even download? You don't know everybody who tried to do it before the 18th, because what about the people like me who gave up when the first step (downloading Shootmania demo from uplay) didn't work? What is the point in doing the second step of a procedure when the first step doesn't work?

Also why did Hylis say this only today:
Hylis wrote: 24 May 2017, 13:05
If there were a unfair treatment between steam and uplay and will try to fix it by making it fair. That's exactly why everything is more complicated than just thinking we can do whatever we wish.

(but if some players were able to register until today, we will have to make it for people until today: I have ask to clarify all this quickly and Cerovan will keep your informed)
Steam users were able to claim Lagoon for free until today, so what happened to making it fair like Hylis said? Only allowing uplay users who clicked the button on the player page before the 18th is not fair.

Now you can say what you want, but you misguided us. You lied to us. Period.

I will not buy anything more from Nadeo.

This is frustrating. I was so excited to play Lagoon, and now I find out that I can't. The original statement was that owners of Turbo (PC version only, I don't remember anything about console versions) would get Lagoon on TM2 completely for free when it released, as long as Turbo was purchased at some reasonably early point before Lagoon's release. Lagoon was expected to release sometime next year, which it has.

That was what you said publicly to people, you can have all the "internal questions" you want. It seems wrong to then make it exclusive to whoever happened to be there for a short beta period, and to then make the free release time-limited anyway. You might as well just play whatever Channel pops up instead.

I don't remember anything about Turbo being free, and I don't know why you'd accuse people of claiming that. It has nothing to do with the cost, it has to do with not getting what I was specifically told I would get for an entire year now.

I had bought Turbo right after launch, greatly enjoyed it, and was looking forward to the TM2 release next year. It makes sense to give out Lagoon like that since Turbo is a repackaged TM2 with the new environment. Please, I just wanna play the real Lagoon in TM2. :(

By the way, a lot of the people in this thread are being really dumb and it's not surprising Nadeo is being bitey. That goes for any thread, and this seems to happen all the time. Some of you really need to grow up. There's a big difference between demanding what you were told you'd get and demanding whatever you want because you're a "fan". Too many fans do that to too many other games, and I can't help but wonder if they're really fans at all.

Using intentionally ambiguous wording and then clarifying when it's too late isn't the most honest practice I have to say.

So if I buy Turbo today or tomorow on Uplay, Lagoon won't be free :|

Seriously I don't understand this situation ...

What i understood : they don't care about their last loyal customers anymore. New players won't come either, who would want to play an online competitive racer with less than 100 people playing ? They betrayed the very community that made the tm games incredible in the past
