Here i disagree very strong. If its 50% its still very optimistic. There are Admins who want to be famous fast. They would like their clans being famous and well known. And there are Admins who like to have quality Servers, even in the known restrictions of the current ladder, no matter if its a 12 Slot or 40 Slot Server. For sure you dont get a Quality Game (i talk about racing, not LOL) in a Server with 255 or even more Slots. Saying it 90% of the Admins wanting those huge Servers is simply not true. Its more your personal taste which creates the wish that there are so many.

And why should new Players think the game is dead? They see many many full Servers with your Technothing on Top. Whats the Prob? The one who buys the Game will not leave after seeing a few empty Server. The one with the free Game joining just to kill some minutes of the day....well, i dont mind if he quits or not ;)

Unlimited Playercount on a Server would be ridicolous. 255 is already too much (for my personal taste)

*Ouch* that hurts  lol

Agree.

My opinion is that if technically unlimited is possible - why not. But i would not use that option. 100 is enough.
Yes i want much players, but i would rather see ex. 255 players divided over 3 identical servers.

Well i always talk about LOL track, i never talk about the other :)
Anyway, follow me:
- You wanna do a clan...
- You need a site and a good server
- To have a good site you need visits on the site
- You need money to pay the site and the the host
- You need sponsor if you don't wanna invest much money
- You need visits on the servers to attract sponsors
- You need 150 players server to do a recycle of 40 players/min
- You need at least 1 server LOL tracks to attract all new players

I'm not talking of you or your team, but talking of admins that work with the online tournaments. (Me and others).

So the dedicated software must be much flexible it can! To accomplish all kind of admins and players.
So better with more settings in the config file.

Speak for yourself, and yourself only. Don't even try to speak for me, or any other admin.
And stop overestimating the importance of your own preferences and opinions. They are yours, and you're entitled to them, but your habit of changing them into broad-sweeping statements that apply to everyone is becoming really tiresome.

Counting the number of players as the main criteria for a successful server was already put to rest about 3 pages ago. I agree the software needs to be able to handle an unlimited amount. That would suggest a lean and spare Dedicated server software. But I don't want servers of 100 people or a continuous flow of 40 players. That is too much bandwidth that I need for other things.

In total there are 3711 servers @ 10.42 GMT+1.

25 locked servers where +1 players are playing.
436 open servers where +1 players are playing.

461 servers that are being played.

@ gekko; It's funny that you say that your server is the best and it might but in overall people don't play rpg or lol but more fun, speed or tech.

I never said my server is the best..... I said i do the statistics, i know the flow of the accounts, i have the software, i don't count manually!!!

You (all) don't understand there are people that work with bandwidth. Like you father do the postman, or the mechanic, or the tubeman, or the soccer player, and etc.
So i talk for the category of hoster and coders.
Are you one of this Willa???? Have you 4 years of Statistic in database? Have the 80% of the players passed on your servers?? I don't think....
Is not my problem if you don't believe in my statistics.
Anyway for me all will be good, i will pay, like all years i will buy 3 TM2 games, i will gift TM2 games, I will use the max bandwidth i can, and i will fill my server in a way.
I've only explained my reasons to the Admins wanna have a big server, telling my experience.
Like i said before Nadeo knows what to do, and Ubisoft wanna see much games sold in the future.
Without comunity, forums, admins, and STATISTICS an admin can't go anywhere! :geek:

You really think Nadeo doesnt know what to do? I´m sure they already know very exactly what they will do regarding dedicated software for the new Games.
I (personally) just hope they still restrict Player-count to avoid that a few huge Servers try to attract all Newcomers like light does to the flies.

I did.

The site is useless. As a server, a good PC and a good connexion are enough.
Therefore, i need only what i already have (or at least a teammate, my hardware sucks  ).

All those stuff are not needs, they are bonuses. You don't NEED them to make a team, to make a great team, to win matches, rise in the best teams of TM and to take part to the major events such as ET or ESL tournaments.

I hope i'm wrong, but you seam making business with TM. Of course, it's not a crime. But please understand that TM is still a hobby for some of us, and nothing more than a hobby.

When you say "most of people want... blablabla", please be cautious. Have you made a survey ? Are you sure your sample is a good picture of the population ? And the statistics that come from your server don't give informations about what happens anywhere else... As long as i'm concerned, i have the opposite feeling : most of the server admins i meat want simply to have fun with their teammates and don't mind how much people come on their server, how much strategies they should build to get enough money to pay the monster-server they don't want to have ! I add : if it was the wish of all the server admins, the competition between them to attract the newcomers would be hard enough to make give-up most of them, and to stress the survivors for life !

Our point is not to say what most of people want, but rather to give everybody the means to do what he wants.

There, i can agree even if i don't feel very concerned. :)

In other words, even if i think it's useless as ghost servers, i don't have any wish to fight it. Ghost servers, monster servers, same fight, same peace. ;)
