ROFLMAO I wouldn't be surprised if it cost $60 for the complete version...but if they're releasing environments in 'parts', maybe previous owners of TM2 SM or QM get a discount for the new packs? Like, if you own TM2 Valley, you can buy Canyon and Tech for, 20 bucks or something. Same with SM or QM. But you have to own the starters for each game to get the discount...not just if you own one of any get the rest for cheap. Theoretically, that -would- bring more players to the game, but I don't see it being enough for Nadeo to do that and recoup production costs...

Actually, now that I thinka bout it, $20 per environment isn't too bad...because think about it this way, what did Hylis say? Ideally they wanted to get fifteen enviros total? At minimum nine? So at MINIMUM the cost for all three complete games would be $60...that's 180 bucks all told...and if there's five enviros per game...then well, that's 300 bucks for a complete maniaplanet package. Even Ubi should be satisfied with that kind of return...

I hardly think that they will not exist packs with the 3 first enviros for less than $60 when the 4th will come. In future the new players will probably buy a pack if they want direcly many enviros, while those who started from the 1st envir will eventually be able to buy some (few, not most of course) enviros with Planets.
Only time will say, even Hylis probably don't know exactly ! it's a little early to already decide about discounts 2/3 years in future ;)

I'm not talkin' about discounts, tho...I'm talkin about price. Period. Cuz Hylis said somewhere (can't find the original post) that the environments would be released one, or maybe two at a time...for a the full price of a game, i.e., $40-$60. While I'm more than happy to shell out that for two or three environments, I'm not made of money. :-S And I can't afford, what...$360-$900 depending on the individual price of an environment and how many enviros Nadeo releases... Maybe I'm misinterpreting. I have a tendency to do that. I guess all we can -really- do is just wait 'til the game's released and go from there. I will be more than happy to support Nadeo, it's just that I'll have to support them less as the price goes up... :P

in fact, TM2 cost 80€ for each environment, but I do a discount for any human beings. We are so cool 8-)
And here I always thought you were a clever robot...

Lol yes, that was obvioulsy a joke. The figure of 20 € or $ per environment has been discussed several times.

I remember Hylis said on a french forum (no link yet) that TM2 environments cost much more money to develop than TMU environments. From another hand, we can expect that thanks to Ubi's support, they'll sell much more licences and thus get much more return on investment.

I feel the price of an environment may rise a bit from TM Forever to TM2, but i expect this increase to be moderate. Not as much because of Hylis' statement than because the fact that Ubi wants to profit from our addiction to the game is partly offset by the limits of our purchasing power. ^^

Like was discussed earlier...this could potentially be $60 per, if they're going to charge full-price for each enviro and not treat 'em as expansion packs...in which case, at 5 enviros a game, for three games...that's $900. American. Can't do it, won't do it...and I'm sorry to be negative, but unless they release environments in chunks of like, one per every two years or something, I just can't afford it. With a car, a kid, grad school, and all the other expenses, games fall to the bottom of the list. :(
