it is capture the flag, you have for sure heard about that!
Yeah why not, bringing a mode that driving games never seen before! Put flag on hard places to get and get point for each flag You capture, this could advance so you work in team later

Ah yes. Thank you both. Just never saw it abreviated before
1nsane - (an offroad racing game about ten years old) - had open environments, checkpoint races, Capture the flag, Return the flag, destruction zone, gate hunt etc... Lot's of racing modes and free roaming, Dirt, Mud, Snow, Ice, Pavement etc... It also had a random terrain generator and you could customize nearly every aspect of the game. Physics were not real good though.
I don't know if CTF would be as fun without collisions though. How would you steal the flag? Pass through whoever has it? I guess that would work.
I'd like to see a TM2 environment that had no roads, just terrain blocks, well maybe some rough dirt roads or trails with an Offroad Vehicle. Blocks could be Rocks, Trees, Hills, Holes, Cliffs, Dirt, Mud, Snow, Sand, Grass. It could still have checkpoint races as all environments do now but just be more raw, natural and open. Race times would be more dependent on Navigation than Speed.

Aha that racing game(insane) seemed to be a very ncie racing game, yeah guess you would have to go through if not they changed so you actually could collide with the other ones, dont know how hard that would be to change for just one game mode tough.
You have nice ideas, hope hylis see this

Re: Wall of text but worth reading (FOR EVERYONE)
Your idea might work though of putting many flags around the map and you get points for each one you return to a "home base". Then it's just a matter of who gets to them first.
