But is it that much better? Is it so unrreplaceable, even by a game that's so far from being bad like TM2?
I have no dought that it is not.
This is what I mean about "Do more for Nadeo, instead of wanting them to give you everything"
You don't need to forget your glorious past on the previous Trackmania(s), but it seems to me that it's time to embrace the future of TM2.

Re: Debate on TM² Canyon in eSport
I'm still promoting the idea, to simply shut down the nations server and each player which wants to play stadium should buy united
This way, Nadeo could promote the stadium environment (because now it pays) as an eSport environment (i mean as "an" not as "the"), while the other environments may stay casual (even though some are more technical than stadium).
I don't see any possibility to promote TMN (as several nations player want), without giving something back. And the argument, that most TMN eSport players bought TMU doesn't count, because it simply haven't sold enough (compared to the amount of players).
To bring something back to stadium, the "free"-players should first give something back to Nadeo, before they get eventually a new stadium. I mean, they already had "two" free updates. Blizzard takes ~40€ for each new WoW-Addon. Either way they could buy Canyon (because this game was designed to bring revenue) or they can upgrade from the "demo" to the whole Forever. No one will force them to play the other environments, they can play stadium as before. But as you can see, the "we want it free and we want it now" mentality is the whole problem here.
Just my idea to solve the problem

Re: Debate on TM² Canyon in eSport
TM2 is a sequel to TMU, and i believe the TMU players have embraced TM2 almost fully (just look at sign-up lists of the Gamers Assembly LAN as an example*). but i don't think you can expect TMN people to embrace something that is so different in terms of format and concept to what they're used to. also i think many people that still play TMN think IT IS better than TM2, me included.serujio wrote:But is it that much better? TMU sign-ups: http://www.gamers-assembly.net/fr/tourn ... nia-united (2 people)
TM2 sign-ups: http://www.gamers-assembly.net/fr/tourn ... ackmania-2 (15 people)
and worth noting is that the TMN tournament at GA have 28 (!) sign-ups with atleast 8 major esports organizations being represented: http://www.gamers-assembly.net/fr/tourn ... er-masters
but hey, maybe it's juuuuust because it's a free game... (6 years after its release).
i believe TMN do bring revenues through advertising. also many people - not just esports players - bought TMU (and continue to buy TMU) through first trying out TMN. in addition, Nadeo are HEAVILY advertising TM2 through TMN which probably also sells some copies atleast (and i wouldn't be surprised if they will HEAVILY advertise shootmania through TMN aswell). finally you should know that many TMN players did indeed buy TM2, mostly because it was (wrongly) advertised as a direct sequel to TMN, but also because they want to support Nadeo.tcq wrote:I'm still promoting the idea, to simply shut down the nations server and each player which wants to play stadium should buy united

i've said this before but the fact of the matter is that TMN is Nadeo most successful product and i think they can thank the game for alot. it's just a shame that they are not continuing on that path and are simply just abusing the game to promote their other (different) products right now.
as an idea to bring further revenues to the game, i would suggest having a similar solution that League of Legends does. that game certainly has shown that a f2p game can be very successful (though i would say TMN did it before LoL).

I think that everyone has said that he wished. There is no need to let this thread open if it's to re-say everything that others people has already said before.
