I preordered TMT (that cost 40€!) for having a "complete pack" of all the TM2 games... now you are laughing on me and saying :
"TMT is just the dumbest version of TM2, buy that instead AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH"
Wow, congratulation, great response... so TMT is pratically a waste of money, because i can buy all of the TM2 versions individually and having a better game than a dumbed one.
But you find this funny, you ask about the same amount of money for a worse version assuming that i'm dumb enogh to buy TMT even if i ALREADY bought the others TM2... well, that will be a very stupid move, i'm sorry for other guys that gonna buy AGAIN the same game with serious limitation.
Trackmania with track editor limitation... wow, i still can't believe this silliness, congrats to all of you guys, what a great work, i guess you'll never see my money.
Apparently you came here with already a bad fixed opinion, and your response makes obvious that you did understand nothing at all what Turbo is there for, and that you did not inform yourself well enough before.
By the way, Trackmania (any version!) always has had some more or less reasonable limitations.
Of course nobody forces you to spend money for anything, it's your good right to chose.
But please don't blame anybody else for your own misinformation.
Turbo is based on Trackmania², it offers a 4th yet not released environment (Lagoon).
The limitations it has are simply due to the platform portability to the consoles, their performance, and the usage of their specific pad controllers.
It looks like to be a more finished and more polished game than any TM² title before.
And the big hope is that it will bring a lot of new players to the Trckmania universe.
What they will do after some time, when they have discovered everything in Turbo, nobody knows.
On the other side, Maniaplanet will remain the more customizable game, with its own limitations.
E.g. no idea what they (Nadeo)'re planning with Shootmania yet (after the release of the PowerUp / Maniaplanet 4 uüdate).
Sure it is a bit strange to have to purchase a TM² title if you want to work on that, e.g. for an own new title, or to be able to use some title like Stadium RPG.
But consider it from that side: if there was no PC release of Turbo, you would need to purchase TM² anyways - i f you like it.
You have to find out for yourself what you want to do, and which path you want to go.
Nothing silly, nothing hilarius. Just a choice.
