[TUTORIAL] How to "EnviroMix" and import Old maps!

Post by Florenzius »

Hey there,

I show you how to import old tracks (source reddit) and after it use every car on it
Please join my room to enjoy fullspeed tracks converted from TMNF/TMUF/TM2! https://players.turbo.trackmania.com/pc/rooms/3134

Step 1

Navigate to where your custom track folder for Trackmania Turbo is located. The path should look like this: X:\Users\ (Username)\Documents\TrackmaniaTurbo\ (random string)\

Step 2

Rename to folder “MapsGhosts” to “MapsGhosts_”

http://imgur.com/TzAZ59X

Step 3

Make a new folder and name it MapsGhosts. You should now have three folders in the following order -> http://imgur.com/AKUbvzh

Step 4

Now take any track from earlier editions of Trackmania and copy/paste them to the new MapsGhosts folder. This can be tracks you have made yourself, or tracks downloaded from TM-Exchange or any other website.

**Note! The custom track file have to end with .Map.gbx, not .Challenges.gbx. Simply rename the file to end with .Map.gbx and it should be compatible with Trackmania Turbo.** -> http://imgur.com/25saRS5

Step 5

Now simply launch the game, select the trackbuilder from the main menu, then select Manage your tracks. Your track should now appear in-game.

Step 6

But you're not done yet. I'm not sure why, but Ubisoft's server does not seem to like custom track names with letters, so what you have to do is click on the track and select Edit on the track that you want to upload.

Step 7

Now that you're in the new track editor, move your mouse cursor to the upper right corner of your screen. A drop down menu should appear. Simply hit the cogwheel and click on the Classic trackbuilder option.

Step 8

A dialog box should appear, hit Yes. A new dialog box should appear asking you if you want to save your map before converting it, hit Yes. Now you have to select a style for the map that you're converting. Pick the one that suits your track the best. For lighting quality I always pick Nice. Try this at first and if it turns out that this takes too much time for your computer to process, simply pick Fast for the tracks that you want to convert next time.

**Note! The trackbuilder will now compute shadows for the track that you're converting. Please wait until this is done, then move on to the next step.**

Step 9

Now that you're in the classic track editor, hit the yellow flag in the bottom right corner of your screen to validate the track. To validate the track you must finish one lap of the track to make sure that it is compatible with Trackmania Turbo.

You might notice that some blocks used in earlier versions of Trackmania have changed in Trackmania Turbo. If the changes are so severe that you can't finish the track, delete this track from the game and move on to converting other tracks.

**Note! Please read the last step of this guide to see how you can convert more tracks. **

Step 10

If you manage to validate the track, return to the track editor and hit the floppy disk (without the plus sign) in the bottom left corner to save the track. You track is now ready to be uploaded!

Note! Your track should now be named with numbers instead of letters. This is the way it works in Trackmania Turbo. Note! The last step only covers what you have to do to convert more tracks.

Step 11 (Converting more tracks)

You're still here?! Looks like you want to convert more tracks then! Exit the game and go back to where your custom tracks are located on your computer. The path is still X:\Users\ (Username)\Documents\TrackmaniaTurbo\ (random string).

Open the MapsGhosts folder. A new file has been created by the game. This file should be named FileList.gbx. Delete this file and return to step 4 to start converting more tracks!

**That is all! Happy converting!

Now you want to have another car if not yet? Then you have to do step 0, if not done already. Open TrackMania² (Yes, it works only with TrackMania²) and edit your track in the "TrackMania²" Titlepack. Click on the map ingame and hold CTRL while clicking on "Edit" button. Choose again your mood and the "new" car. Validate it. Done.

Import it as shown above in TrackMania Turbo and you have the car as in TrackMania², just with the standard-Turbo-Model.

I hope it works at you, enjoy it :)

EDIT: Unknown/Deleted (from Turbo) blocks won't be deleted! They're just ghostblocks

EDIT2: The set rounds on a multilap-track are in Turbo too, but there it isn't possible to change it (just replace the multilap-block)

EDIT3: Looool i have the old end-screen! Pic: https://www.dropbox.com/s/84pmte2qp4nln ... 0.png?dl=0
