Hello! Due Pursuit was a huge success, I thought about making new TrackMania modes. I'm better known from SM scripts but I learned some TM language as well to be able to make insane expirence.

I still have ideas for 2 competitive modes - PursuitPRO (pursuit team) and Solo Flag (speedball in TM). But I feel a bit bored of realising own imagination. That's where you come in.

I'm starting an "ideas contest" - from all your mode ideas I'll choose one that I'll made. But there must be some limitations. Below I'm posting what is possible to do in TrackMania scripts and what is not.

Possible:
- team or non-team modes
- force player into another team
- use Backspace and Delete keys in another way
- have multilap start and normal finish at once
- split mode into rounds and turns
- do custom interfaces
- have stunts events
- force player play or spectate
- access player position in world
- access waypoints positions
- create name tags above waypoints/players/any other position
- modify team names/colors (clublink)
- check player speed when crossing waypoint or on stunts
- measure traveled distance
- kick someone or force him spectate
EDIT:
- changing CanyonCar, ValleyCar acceleration and steering between 0-100% is possible!

Not possible:
- modify any physics of the car/world (speed/gravity)
- place anything breakable in the world
- place anything moving and collideable at once
- place anything in the world
- different cars for players
- teleport or spawn in any location
- turbo whenever you want
- turn on lights/trails from script
- custom cameras
- check if player crossed checkpoint more than once
- use multiple start blocks
- dynamic items/actions/weapons - anything from ShootMania
- change car skin/model via script
- crashes (srsly?)
- puzzle (srsly? ×2)

If your mode matches upper conditions, you can be happy and have chance that you mode will be made (of you post it here ofc). Author of best idea will be mentioned in script header as founder of original idea. So, keep on and share your idea until May!

Reward: Complete gamemode (you don't say?!) + 2500 planets (= 1,5 title pack stations)

You should make a simple rounds gamemode with some parameters to customize the vehicles' physics. :thx:

A long time ago I thought about replaced the gamemodes of old TM in TM² but I did not get it because I'm a noob at Maniascript.
The 2 gamemodes are, I think, only playable in singleplayer but if you have an idea to be playable in multiplayer, do it :).

The following gamemode is in TMO and is named "Survival" :
-You have to complete a list of maps.
-Each time, you are driving against 1,2 or 3 computer drivers depending on how many maps you finished/skipped.
-If you finish in front of 3 drivers, you can skip 2 maps.
-If you finish in front of 2 drivers, you can skip 1 map.
-If you finish in front of 1 driver, you cannot skip any map.
-If you finish last, you loose and you have to restart the maplist.
-More maps you finished/skipped, more hard are the drivers.
-You score is the number of maps you finished/skipped

The following gamemode is in TMS and is names "Crazy" :
-You have to defeat a big number of opponents.
-When you start a map, you have ~30 opponents of different driving level and a time limiter.
-When you finish and you beat the last of them, your replay replace this one and you restart the map with an opponent delete and a timer who keeps running.
-When you press suppr, you are always at the same number of opponents but with a timer who keeps running.
-If you are last, it goes the same thing when you restart.
-When the timer if at 0, you loose and you have to restart the map with all opponents.
-You score is the number of opponents you beat.

Relayrace gamemode

+Team based: Warmup until everybody is ready (F6 selection interface -combo style slot1,slot2,slot3-) 1v1 each round (a bit like obstacle duel), once a player of a team reaches the finish line a team mate spawns on start line. (a bit like an elite attacker, in relay)

+The winner is the team who finishes the relays before. (this are the basics... If this could be done you'd have 75% of the work done)

+Can have a competitive aim. Need at least 4 players (2 teams, to be played). 3v3 would be perfect for 45 sec cup maps. Needs accurate driving and being smart.

practical example in case i'm too bad explaining myself ^^

Code: Select all

TEAM-A vs TEAM-B
Warmup: Wait everyone F6 (ready)
Match start: 
Round1: TEAM-A player1 vs TEAM-B player1 (players can choose order)
players start, players finish, => check times.
Spawn player2 of each team in delay of arrival. (i.e time.player1-time.player2)
idem for the next players, wait until everybody finishes.

My 10 cents worth ...

WTCYoStunt12 - Survival: That was a good feature back then (and now for me as I still play TMO).

Rots - Relay: Lots of fun in Coast - good memories of having plenty of players joining in. I think we've had relays in TM2, not sure.

Two great ideas here!

that's for xaseco2, we want a clean&powerful scripted ingame gamemode, no need for controllers.

A puzzle scriptmode would be cool, this would reborn the puzzlemode in TM² - which has nadeo removed :cry:
