TM2 Valley: restarting doesn't apply update

I've probably tried restarting the game about a dozen times spanning the past couple of days. It just doesn't work! Please help!

are you running the standalone version of Maniaplanet or the Steam version?

Which titles do you own really?
Some servers are "multi title" servers, and those require to have all three titles (Canyon, Stadium and Valley) installed with the standalone version. The Steam version does not work properly here.

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm running the Steam version, and I own all three TM2 environments. Must I then install the Maniaplanet thingy and then re-install the games through there?

If you're going to play Multi-Environment servers, that require all 3 TrackMania installed, you must use the standalone ManiaPlanet exe. Steam doesn't allow to join these due environment barriers.

There is also Trackmania 2 Steam game merging all 3 environments, which is available only for closed beta users and it can be obtained only with asking Nadeo for a Steam key.

That would be Trackmania Turbo, right? And alrighty, I'll find the Maniaplanet exe and re-install! Thank you for the help

Attention, Turbo will be a complete separate game, nothing common with Maniaplanet.

So I must buy the full game of Turbo to play only a single new environment?

Yes and no. You did understand. Although Turbo looks similar, it is a separate and completely standalone game.
Yes, it features Stadium, but with a lot of pop art like extensions, to make it more pleasent as console arcade game.
Lagoon is also planned for Maniaplanet, but it will certainly look simpler and with much less blinking stuff. Besides this, Lagoon for Maniaplanet is expected only next year somewhen.
