[Poll] Joust: Pole capturing time

Post by Alexey85 »

Suggestion to decrease pole capturing time to 30 seconds.

The time is the server setting and might vary, but 60 seconds is a standard. So suggestion is to the community and server owners.

Why? There are tons of situations, where player A has timing and positional advantage, and it is correct for him to camp until the opponent B attacks, but B might wait without engaging until timer allows, so potentially waiting might take 40 seconds for example. So either A has to wait, which is boring, either he has to give away his advantage. Sometimes playing Joust turns into the waiting battle.
I think 25 seconds to engage should be enough, add running time from one pole to another about 5 seconds, and you get roughly 30 seconds for an average map.

40-45 seconds would be okay. 30 is too short.

I sent message to ESL about this several minutes ago and linked this poll.

No response from ESL so far. I think of messaging Zotac Cup too and showing them this poll, but now I guess it is better to do it when there are more votes. It is needed to make somehow more of Joust players to know about this poll. I was telling about it in chat to several people when playing Joust. Probably you should do it too couple times if you care enough.

Regarding ESL, we are thinking of it. But it would be nice if there was more feedback about the matter. Only 10 voters in such a poll are far too few.

A good idea would be to copy this Poll into the general section of ShootMania as it seems to get more responses and views, rather than the 'Multiplayer' section.

45s minimum would be fine, anything else is too short imo.
