Nobody expected that will happen... but it did! The Mania Exchange manialink is now available to public as a MX Advent Calendar 2015 present. Thanks to this new interface you can search for maps directly inside of ManiaPlanet and play TrackMania ones within one click.

The idea was inspired by this topic:

To access the manialink, just type
exchange
in your ManiaPlanet address bar!

The list of all features provided by the manialink:
- Search for maps in both TrackMania and ShootMania MX
- One-click play button for TrackMania maps
- Your last search is saved within title pack
- Share your favorite maps on Facebook
- Hover the map to instantly see its screenshot or thumbnail
- Display information of any map via its ID
- Filter your results by author, map type, environments and title pack
- Sort maps exactly the same way as on the website
- And if that's not enough - you can type map name even without clicking the blue bar!

However, it wanted me first to "authorize", why is this required?
And when using maps that needs a mod... the authorization confirmation dialog was staying behind some other popups... this lead to play the map without the mod, which was downloaded only afterwards (after the map ended, and I finally could click on OK on that authoration successful popup).

If I remember correctly, manialink names need to have a minimum of 6 characters, so "mx" wouldn't work.

Really good job Domino, another great example of how damn skilled you are - everything works flawlessly and is a superb addition to the game. Will definitely use it whenever I can!
You might need a fancier header though, it looks quite dull with the standard font ;p

Awesome, you work through the mx api spoofing the user agent? cuz if i remember well I couldn't make requests through the maniaplanet browser...

Would it be possible to mx login to give awards and comments?

Maniaplanet's community has always been very small compared to other games but yet it has the greatest spirit of em all. Otherwise I cannot imagine how a community is able to deliver high quality products with such a high pace

It doesn't depend on me, the manialink download button redirects to maniacode provided by MX team. This link appears as Install and play option next to Download button on the website.

You might need a fancier header though, it looks quite dull with the standard font ;p

Manialink is using very simple API, which doesnt require dev account to be logged. And manialink wont be able to log in and upload comments/awards.

Also there are more things available with the api, such as replays times with download links and list of embed objects (these are going to be added soon, but i have really big problem to find good place for them in current design).

Among that, there also will be an option to open MX map page in external browser and probably Facebook share button. (+ minor design improvements)
