Re: Any tricks in compatibility settings to increase FPS?

Post by Alexey85 »

Well, I selected power saving mode in control panel sometime before. I didn't know it limits graphics card usage
Now FPS is good when I changed power mode to max performance. I only payed attention to this when I saw low graphics card usage in msi afterburner and googled that power mode can be the reason :-)
Sorry for bothering with a silly situation :-)
Thank you all for advices.

Good thing. I wish I knew about it before installing afterburner :-)

i had a 570 and 250FPS ( stable )
now a 970 and 230FPS ( not stable )
Same settings... Makes me rly sad.

It's a 400€ card...

Pressing CTRLF12 tells me im using 30% of my card.
The neverending waiting game has to stop.

GPU usage 30% ¿¿ weird, I guess your 970 should push over that on SM in high perf mode. I mean, I know from people with worse cards running over 300

I for one am glad you did and I'm sure a few others are too. It's brought up some interesting things to look at in settings. I'm running a GTX 760, don't have everything set on high and it doesn't run as fast as it should. I'll be checking out some of these suggestions.

First thing fof all, disable Vsync go in three environments on a blank map, make an average of the 3 fps togheter and by this number, check yout refresh rate and if the fps exceed your refresh rate, enable vsync OR go in game, click the wheel (at right from "Share") click Advanced and in field MaxFPS put your monitor refresh rate (if 144 put in "144")(if 75 put "75), etc.

Maybe im a little bit offtoping, but can some "pr0s" explain me:
Why its better to play on low settings making game look ugly but gain insane 200 fps than playing on high, good looking settings enough to gain stabile retard 60/75 fps?
Im playing on max launcher settings (except all synchro and disable useless checks), lowest ingame graphic settings (except tripple buffer on), 60 hz 1080p ips led monitor, have stabile 60 fps and somehow it feels nicer for me (both tm & sm).

if you have "stable" 60fps at 60Hz, it rather looks like you have VSync on.
Then the video card does not have any other choice, but this often causes tearing.

Oh, the horror. You must have ugly input lag for SM and trailing. I used to play like this (but with a bit higher res). Now I know it was screwing up my play big time.
